Idle power (claimed)iMaker's idle power in the PS3 state with APST on, or the state the maker calls low-power idle. On a SATA drive, Slumber counts as low-power idle. A plain idle figure with no low-power state, often near 1 W, is active idle and is not stored. Samsung's Idle with DIPM on is a SATA link power state, so it counts as low-power idle.

Write cache size (measured)iData written at full speed in one long sequential write on an empty drive before the speed drops.

400GB9Reviewtomshardware.com/pc-components/ssds/kioxia-exceria-pro-g2-2tb-ssd-review/2Read 15 October 20262TB. 15-minute Iometer sequential write, 1MiB blocks, queue depth 32. The drive writes at over 12.6 GB/s for over 31 seconds with a cache of about 400 GB. Intel Core i9-12900K, Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Hero, drive prefilled to 50% and tested as a secondary device. The drive then holds about 2.0 GB/s in a mixed state of TLC writes plus copying data out of the cache for about 13 minutes before a steady 2.96 GB/s. The first state after the cache is that mixed state, which the review does not call TLC mode, so measured_post_cache_write_mbs is not stored

405GB6Measurementtomshardware.com/pc-components/ssds/adata-xpg-mars-980-blade-2tb-ssd-review/2Read 15 October 2026Iometer sustained sequential write, 15 minutes, 1MiB blocks at queue depth 32, 2TB drive: 12.6 GB/s in the fastest pSLC mode for over 30 seconds. The text says the total cache is over 405GB, stored as 405

Write speed after the cache (measured)iWrite speed in the first state after the fast cache is full, when the drive writes straight to TLC or QLC. Tom's Hardware calls it TLC mode. The slower folding state and the lowest dip are not stored. Only from a long sequential write test.

The chart shows the line settle at about 3.7 GB/s after about 35 seconds and stay there for the rest of the 15 minutes, so it is the first state after the cache

Highest temperature under load (measured)iHighest drive sensor reading in a sustained write test of 10 minutes or more, on the bare drive unless the row is a heatsink version. Short benchmark runs do not count. Heatsink, airflow and room temperature go in the source note.

The review says the drive ran as cool as a cucumber at 52 C max, more than 30 C below its 83 C warning threshold. The text does not tie the figure to one test. Primary composite sensor, about 22 C ambient, active cooling unless noted, same bench. Club386 saw 60 C and KitGuru 36 C with motherboard heatsinks in other methods

HeatsinkiVersions sold. The base lists every version and each variant row lists its own. A water block or a cooler with a fan counts as a heatsink. A thermal pad or label alone is bare. A heatsink in the box that the buyer fits, as on the XPG MARS 980 BLADE, counts as with heatsink.

Without heatsink1Maker product pageeurope.kioxia.com/en-europe/personal/ssd/exceria-pro-g2.htmlRead 15 October 2026No heatsink is sold or included. The page names product labels that enhance heat dissipation

Tom's Hardware photographs the drive with a basic heatspreader fitted. KitGuru calls the stick-on heatsink in the box optional. XPG sells one pack per capacity, so the heatsink version is stored. The separate MARS 980 PRO has an active cooler and is not this product

RGB lightingiAny version sold has lighting the user can set. A status LED alone does not count. Leave it out when no version has lighting. The Heatsink rows show which version has it.
